Geekmates Geek Dates: A LAN Party!

30 Jan

I don’t know about you guys, but I am smack dab in the middle of a case of the winter blues. Yes guys, it’s a real thing – and you should be depressed too with the absolute lack of holidays and long weekends between New Years and Easter! * sigh *

This being said, another Geek Date idea is long overdue, and this one is not only super adaptable to friends, family or lovey dovey types, but also doesn’t make you go outside in the gross, gross weather – a LAN party!

this looks awful.

this looks awful.

I’d just rather stay in.

Hey Sarah, What Else Have You Been Doing?

28 Jan

So I’m sure you’ve noticed that up until about last week the only stuff popping up on here were the podcast updates – and that was IF I remembered that was a thing I should do. Once again “other things” got in the way, jobs were double fisted, theses were worked on and then also ignored, and for the past 6 weeks I’ve been seeing someone new.

His name is Cullen.

yes the share button is there. yes it's because I was hitting it in rapid succession.

Funny enough, though, I still have been writing elsewhere (because why work for me when I can work for everyone else!) so it is time for the annual It’s January And I Swear I’m Going To Write Again So Here’s What Else I’ve Been Doing So You Don’t Think I’m The Laziest Twat In Existence post.

Mouthful.

The PVP Podcast Episode 46 – The Inquisitor’s Summit

26 Jan

WE’RE BACK!

It’s been a little while, yes we know, but with Christmas and some family things and of course playing Dragon Age Inquisition (sometimes for the FIFTH time Ness, you crazy), it’s been busy. There was also no time to catch up because today is all about DRAGON AGEEEEEEEE!

INQUISITIONNNNNNNNNN

INQUISITIONNNNNNNNNN

We are also super lucky to have our friend Ness join us! We all met online and then got to be beer drinking best friends at PAX East 2014 – we met in the Bioware room, to be exact, which is pretty much perfect for our friendship.

SO, non-Dragon Age lovers beware: this episode is full of it.

The Backlog of Ultimate Shame

23 Jan

Over the last couple of months I have started writing a column for The Mary Sue (eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!) called Late To The Game, where I am playing and writing about games that I missed or skipped and have been collecting dust in my backlog shamefully and all sad looking. If inanimate objects could pout, these games would have puppy face of sadness down to a T.

I’ve been getting readers to vote on the next game I should be embarrassed to have yet to play, and decided that I should just lay it out on the table and expose my absolute awfulness to the world. A list of all my backlog games.

Avramune Sings Fish Feasts Songs

21 Jan

Back in the day I used to play a lot of World of Warcraft. Tony played when we first started dating, and after getting really excited after I played for several hours, he bought me my very own battle chest. Funny story: I used to always think that he was stealing my loot (due to the group loot rules of taking turns) and would yell at him for taking my things and threaten that “I was NOT kidding!” while he laughed his ass off.

During Wrath we joined a guild called Geeks Do It Best, and made some seriously amazing friends. Even though we aren’t playing anymore, we still occasionally talk, and half of them got invites to our wedding. And we raided, every Wednesday.
