Hey Sarah, What Else Have You Been Doing?

28 Jan

So I’m sure you’ve noticed that up until about last week the only stuff popping up on here were the podcast updates – and that was IF I remembered that was a thing I should do. Once again “other things” got in the way, jobs were double fisted, theses were worked on and then also ignored, and for the past 6 weeks I’ve been seeing someone new.

His name is Cullen.

yes the share button is there. yes it's because I was hitting it in rapid succession.

Funny enough, though, I still have been writing elsewhere (because why work for me when I can work for everyone else!) so it is time for the annual It’s January And I Swear I’m Going To Write Again So Here’s What Else I’ve Been Doing So You Don’t Think I’m The Laziest Twat In Existence post.

The PVP Podcast Episode 44 – The Problem With Mages

25 Nov

The last couple weeks we have done some things – played Epic Yarn, watched weird made for TV movies about eating lots of pears, got fussy on Tomb Raider, and Sarah had an – interesting – story about HalCon (to say the least). BUT most importantly, Rae joins us to talk about part 1 of our Dragon Age discussion! This week we focused on the position of mages in the Dragon Age universe – and it’s a good one!

There’s even more after the page break!

Extra Life 2014!

16 Oct

It’s that time of year again!

For the third year in a row, The Geekmates will be playing games for charity as a part of Extra Life!

What’s Extra Life you ask? Well, let me explain!

Our team is on a mission to save kids through video games, and we need your help. Each of us has chosen our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital where thousands of children are treated each year, regardless of their family’s ability to pay. These kids are facing scary stuff like cancer, cystic fibrosis, and injuries from accidents to name just a few.

On October 25th, 2014, we’ll be part of a huge international celebration of the social impact of gamers with Extra Life and it’s our sincere hope that you’ll find it in your heart to support us with a monthly pledge or one-time gift that will go directly to that team member’s chosen hospital.Your donation is tax-deductible and ALL PROCEEDS go to help kids.Last year, Extra Life raised more than 4 million dollars to save kids, but in 2014 our goals, just like the needs of the kids we serve, are much, much higher. We can’t do this without your help. Donating online is safe and easy!

Last year we managed to raise aver 1800.00 as a team, and we need your help to do it – so please, donate and help some sick kids! Every little bit counts!

You can find our pages here: Sarah, Dave, and Matt!

We will also be livestreaming the ENTIRE 24 hours at, so check in on us, cheer us on, and keep up awake!

Until next time!

The PVP Podcast Episode 39 – It’s Rogue, Not Rouge, GOD

13 Aug

This week Dave and Sarah are both really irritated that nobody seems to know these are two different words. Honestly.

We also talk about playing games in big groups, Reddit rage, Guardians of the Galaxy, The Last of Us Remastered, all the Dragon Age origin stories (and how Sarah feels like an ass helping Bhelen), as well as twitch drama and the decline in preorders. As a main topic, we look at all the HD remakes coming our way, and whether or not we care.

The PVP Podcast Episode 38 – Just The Worst Type Of People

31 Jul

The summer drought is real, but Dave and I managed to find a ton of stuff to talk about this week! We discuss the Warcraft movie, how awesome Vikings is, some serious Dragon Age drama, potential Dungeons and Dragons adventures, some great new comic books, all the amazing board games Dave and Rae are playing, an actually good Netflix fantasy movie, and how squishy we are. Our main topic is the Destiny Beta, and betas in general, which is just about all that’s going on these days. Let’s get some things together, geek industry. We need shit to talk about.

still gross.
