Gaming Shame

8 Nov

Every gamer has one: a stack of video games that they have not yet gotten around to playing. Maybe they released at the same time as a few other games you wanted, maybe they were a gift, or maybe you bought them at a great deal in order to eventually crack open. No matter how you acquired them, they weigh on your mind and look back at you from the shelf, begging to be unwrapped and enjoyed. It’s shameful – and sadly, I think I have the largest shame pile, ever. EVER.

Hello, my name is Sarah, and I’m an addict.

I am accused of this often : (

I don’t even want to admit this, but this is a list of all the games that I own, and have yet to finish. I’m only covering current gen, because I’ve been going back and collecting JRPG titles from past consoles. I will play them, but they are an actual collection, and so I can’t bear to add them to my pile of shame. It’s big enough on its own.

Assassin’s Creed III

Atelier Rorona

Atelier Totori

Batman: Arkham City

Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice

Dragon Age Origins: Ultimate Edition

Fable III

Final Fantasy XIII

Final Fantasy XIII-2

Halo Reach

Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance

LEGO Star Wars III The Clone Wars

Mass Effect 2

Mass Effect 3

Medieval Moves: Deadmund’s Quest

Pokemon Rumble Blast

Pokémon White 2

Portal 2

Resonance of Fate

Star Ocean: The Last Hope

Tales of Graces f

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Tomb Raider Trilogy

Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception

unghhh ….

I am so embarrassed.

I want to make this public though, so I start working on it. Unless I’ve been assigned to review it, I refuse to buy anything new until I beat 3 of these games. Every 3 I finish, I can get a new game. And if I put it up on the site, then you, loving readers, can hold me accountable. Scouts honour.

Until next time!

This is true for me. I’ve bought a game two years ago and never touched it. And the boys have a lot that should be traded in. You aren’t fair to yourself by putting Assassins creed 3. It just came out.

I can’t trade things in, but I definitely should trade some of these in that we will never play again. And yeah, AC3 is new but by the time I get around to playing it, it won’t be lol

I know exactly what you mean! I’m planning to thin my personal stack over the holidays

I have so many that I’m supposed to review for companies that I’ve been neglecting the ones I bought myself. Personally looking at your collection, I would go: Fable III (because I think Peter Molyneux is amazing), Assassin’s Creed 3 (ah-mazing series), and then both Mass Effects. Happy Gaming!

I feel you – just when I get a stretch of time there’s a review to work on! and then the pile gets bigger …

WHOA! I’m not the only one! A friend said that your Futurama pic should be my desktop. I buy games usually because I’ll get a great deal (used at Gamefly, Black Friday deals, etc…)and there it becomes another brick in the wall on my shelf. My excuse is family. I’m married with children and they time is just not there. I have to play at night when I put everyone to bed if I still have the energy. I would opt to start a support group, but that would just take more time away from gaming.

Haha yeah that pic should be my desktop too! I’m the exact same as you – the sales get me trapped, and then school and work full time, not to mention trying to see husband man (I can only imagine what kids add to that equation!) It could be an online support group, where we play coop games that are on our backlog list lol – two birds, one stone!
