Last year a group of friends and I played a couple different Pathfinder modules, and we had a friggin’ amazing time. We infiltrated a cult, visited a city made of gold, and defeated an epic dragon and master wizard one day out of every week. So of course when the new school year began and everyone returned, we couldn’t wait to get it started again. And this year, I’m going to document the whole thing. This will be the beginning of a series I am calling: Geekmates Dice Fates!
There are five of us involved; four players, and one Dungeon Master, this time around manned by Cameron, story teller and accent creator extraordinaire. Our DM last year, Dave, returns for the first time in a long time as a dice-rolling hero. He plays Gerrault, a human gunslinger with a sweet coat and a quick hand.
Also returning from last year is Jenni, this year playing a human ranger; her sharp aim and flirty nature are staples in our group dynamic. And of course I am returning this year. I began the journey as a gnome bard, however switched after one session to a gnome barbarian for a better group balance, and because after a couple weeks I always regret not choosing a hardcore melee class.
New to our adventure is Nathan, another archaeology student we met through mutual friends. He is playing a virtuous Paladin named Obadiah. Our brave leader and Dungeon Master is Cameron: he played with us last year, and is now trying his hand at the dice that hold our fate in our Pathfinders adventure, The Rise of the Rune Lords.
Starting next week I will be retailing our epic quest to find the Rune Lord and defeat him or her (we haven’t gotten that far yet!) to you! But I would like your advice – are you more interested in the story itself, or so you want to hear about the meta gaming as well? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
Until next time!
